The TCC Summer Premier T10 Finals for Divn I teams on August 26, 2024, between Bulls and WOMCC was a thrilling showcase of T10 cricket’s essence—intensity, skill, and drama. WOMCC won the toss and chose to bat first, setting a target of 85 runs. Navin Negi stood out for WOMCC, scoring 44 runs off 25 balls and anchoring their innings. Abhiram with 15 and Pratap with an aggressive 9 were notable contributors. Despite some early dropped catches, the Bulls’ bowling attack, effective throughout the tournament, maintained pressure on the WOMCC batters. The match’s tone was set early; Sharad’s first over conceded just seven runs, and Gaurav’s brilliant second over gave away only five runs while taking a crucial wicket. The first powerplay saw no boundaries, increasing the pressure on WOMCC. Pawan, Sathvik, and Srini continued the pressure, taking key wickets at regular intervals. The defining moment of the innings was with Pawan dismissing Navin via a stunning catch by Paul on the boundary. Sathvik emerged as the most improved player for the Bulls, showcasing his development. Gaurav returned to bowl the ninth over, claiming two more wickets and leaving WOMCC struggling. Srini took another wicket in the final over, preventing WOMCC from finding the boundaries they desperately needed. Sandeep’s captaincy was pivotal, with effective field setups and bowling.
In response, the Bulls began their chase aggressively. Gaurav led the charge, scoring 12 runs in the opening over with three boundaries. The opening partnership between Paul and Gaurav added 28 runs in the first three overs, including four boundaries and a six. However, WOMCC’s Vishwa shifted the momentum by taking both openers in a single over. Babar, instrumental in the Bulls’ journey through the quarterfinals and semis, was run out, adding to the tension. The chase was revived by Sriram R and Sujith, who contributed 19 runs with quick running between the wickets. Sharad and Rohit then formed a crucial partnership of 18 runs, with Rohit hitting a four off a no-ball, swinging momentum back to the Bulls. Sharad provided steady support, keeping the innings on track. WOMCC brought their magician, Jayanth and took the wicket of Rohit after conceding 3 runs off 2 balls. Then, Mr. Dependable, Jagdish came to the crease and immediately eased the pressure with a boundary but fell for a runout in the last ball. With 6 runs needed from the last 6 balls, powerplay specialist Srini came to the crease and scored a boundary on the first ball, leaving just two runs needed. He completed the chase with a boundary on the third ball, securing the championship for the Bulls. The chase was a rollercoaster, keeping spectators on edge until the last over, but Srini and Sharad held their nerve to clinch victory. The Bulls emerged as champions of the inaugural TCC Summer T10 Finals.
